Students enrolled in BIT 579 are expected to complete a research proposal that incorporates a high throughput (HT) experimental approach. This BIT 579 Project research proposal is modeled off of the NSF GRFP in order to expose you to US national grant writing solicitations and get you to flex your creativity with your own HT experimental design.
Milestone 1: Complete the NSF GRFP Scavenger Hunt. Due 3/10 by midnight.
Milestone 2: Submit a first draft/outline of your research proposal for instructor feedback. Due TODAY 3/26 by midnight.
Milestone 3: Submit a revised draft of your research proposal for peer review. Due 4/7 by midnight.
Milestone 4: Complete the Peer Review Worksheet to give feedback to another researcher’s proposal. Due 4/14 by midnight.
Milestone 5: Submit your NSF GRFP proposal featuring a HT approach! Due 4/24 by midnight.
Each Milestone is a step toward improving your final proposal and will be equally weighted toward your final grade. As always, if you cannot meet these due date expectations or if you miss a due date, please email ALL instructors your new time management plan as well as when you submit your belated work (so that we can give you timely feedback!).
