Consistent Course Structure and Repetition

The course has been designed with modules that have a similar structure.

Each module starts with an overview and module learning objectives (MOs) that are linked to the course goals. We then dive into the topic with content that is available as a recording (audio/video) and slides. Top Hat questions review key concepts and engage you in asynchronous conversations with your peers. These questions are intended for you to retrieve and review the information and formulate your opinions and explanations to compare with your classmates. The forums are quests designed to pique your interest by raising awareness of new high-throughput technologies and applications, followed by class-wide open discussions. The ultimate goal is for you to grow and improve through conversations that foster the exchange of ideas and feedback.

The module structure repeats every week with interleaved case studies and Jove.com scenarios. The group projects and BIT 579 assignments all have peer review components to encourage the exchange of ideas and gradual improvement.
