Hello!

We hope you are staying safe and healthy on the first day of classes (FDOC) for Spring 2023 at NC State. While our course BIT 479/579 High-throughput Discovery (HTD) begins in the second-half of the semester (March 1), we are excited to get ready to start the course! We, Dr. Carlos Goller and Dr. Carly Sjogren, are your instructors for this semester and you can get to know us by watching this short video introduction we created for you available on YouTube.

We are excited to share our ideas about high-throughput approaches and learn together! We created a short video and an infographic describing the course structure and teaching philosophy for the BIT 479/579 High-throughput Discovery (HTD) course. The video is available on YouTube, and the audio file is similar to our weekly “mixtapes” that we will share with you to listen to wherever you are in preparation for our case studies and discussion boards.

You have access to the Moodle course site today where you can begin Module 0 Start Here! and can find our syllabus and course map. We use Google Docs for guidelines, and you have commenting privileges. Feel free to ask questions! (We love student questions!)

We are so very excited to begin learning from one another in HTD. We welcome any and all questions you might have, so please do not hesitate to ask.

Best,

Your HTD Instructional Team
