This is our last week learning together in HTD. Many of us are using our scheduled lab time to complete group work to complete the Lab Project, and we want to encourage you through today as it’s the final lab session! Continue your excellent teamwork revising your JoVE manuscripts to turn in this Friday, February 25 by 5:00 pm. We know you will submit manuscripts that highlight the use of high-throughput approaches for scientific research!
As a bit of encouragement, we want to reflect on how much effort you have already invested and appreciate that work! Your instructors value effort, revision, and teamwork as you work toward producing excellent science resources for dissemination. This is reflected in our grading schema for the Lab Project where each Milestone is equally weighted:
Milestone 1 = 25%
Milestone 2 = 25%
Milestone 3 = 25%
Milestone 4 = 25%
This means that you have already earned a 75% on this assignment as Milestones 1-3 were graded on completion. Milestone 4 will be graded for content, and will contribute to the remaining 25% of your grade.
Grading examples:
- If you earn 90% on your manuscript, 0.9 x 25% = 22.5%, 75% + 22.5% = 97.5%.
- If you earn 75% on your manuscript, 0.75 x 25% = 18.75%, 75% + 18.75% = 93.75%.
- If you earn 50% on your manuscript, 0.5 x 25% = 12.5%, 75% + 12.5% = 87.5% (and from your draft no one will be failing this assignment)
